Spring has sprung!

Today is the first day I can truely say it feels like spring! The sun is streaming in through the cafe windows and it one of those dreamy hazy daze as the sun soakes up the morning mist. Hurray! Its finally here! Or at the very least its a step in the right direction.

Firstly we would like to welcome a new member to The Garden Station family! The delightful Iona Wren Talbot arrived on the 11th Febuary and we are over the moon. We cant waite to see her running up and down the track with her big brother.

Jackson is proving to be a wonderful big brother who loves his little sister very much. Lots of kisses and cuddles and he shouts 'Baby!' every time he see her which makes our hearts swell with pride and delight. Thank you to everyone who has helped out along the way and thank you for your paitence while this rather preciouse bun was baking!

Thank you to Barbara Roberts for taking this beautiful photo for us!

Well as you can see we have been busy this winter revamping the website which is now starting to look more like what we want. We hope you like it. Please do let us know if there is anything that dosnt work and if there is any information you would like us to add. Its going to take a little while for us to tidy up the loose ends so to bare with us.

We have also been busy planning for the year ahead and have lots of new ideas and plans for 2016 and beyond. As you will have seen we have been closed for the winter to take time out after a rather busy year and to allow Phillipa time to prepare for baby Iona's arrival.

As we have a very full diary again this year for events we have made the desicion not to open the tearooms on a day to day basis to allow us more preparation time. This has not been an easy descion but it feels that its the right thing to do at this stage in our journey. Do not dispair however as we will still be having extra special afternoon tea days for you to come along to! As we will have a little more time this means we can make our afternoon teas really something you can get excited about and will be something very special indeed. For further details and the list of dates we will be open please go to the Tea Rooms page on our sparkly new website and do get in touch if you have any questions at all.

Don't forget that we are available for hire for all types of special occasions so if you have a special birthday or an event you would like to celebrate please do think of us.

We have been doing a lot of work outside over the last couple of weeks to get tided up after the winter and improve some of the little forgotten corners. The long overdue restoration of the woodland allotment has begun and we have taken it down to the ground so we can start again! We will be drawing up plans which will give us growing space in raised beds. We hope to turn this in to a multiuse space with a fire pit and seating, covered area for outdoor courses and outdoor cooking faciliies such as a clay oven for making Terry's famous homemade pizzas ! Watch this space!

We are always open to help from willing volunteers so if you would like to be involved and get stuck in to the garden we would love to hear from you. Free grub, plants and produce (when were up and running!) to all who donate there valuable time and energy.

Looking forward to summer!

Now that the weather has finally started to improve (again, hurray!) we can now begin painting the leaning shed and buildings and make spit spot in time for the first wedding of the year on the 2nd April! Its going to look so fabulouse....

Well, we must go and buy some more paint......
